About Us

The Scout group was established in 1932 in the centre of Wick before moving to its current home at Linden Park in 1988.

We consider ourselves as a totally inclusive group with members being boys and girls of any ability, with our hall being fully accessible for wheelchairs. Our youngest members can join Beavers at six years old, Cubs at eight years and Scouts at ten and half years. Children can join at any age without having had to attend the younger sections.

Throughout all of our sections we undertake a wide and varied range of activities including cooking on open fires, survival skills, map reading, first aid, climbing and camping skills.
We also teach air rifle target shooting and archery (with parental permission) using fully qualified instructors. We have our own large indoor climbing wall again supervised by qualified leaders. We have a large area of secure grounds at the rear of the main hall used for outdoor activities such as camp fires, cooking and camping, in addition we have access to a shared secure campsite in Angmering (Dappers Lane).

Supporting the team of leaders is a group of Trustees who ensure the group runs and operates within the policies of Scouting. The trustees also help raise funds and assist with building and grounds maintenance.

As a group we are keen to be part of the wider community and actively support many of the events within the town. We were one of the founding groups and continue to support the increasingly popular Armed Forces Day in June.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
